“8+All-Day” Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy Practice Course (4501 MPC in MBCT)

Clinically proven to reduce depression and stress, all who try it are changed by MBCT.

Whether you have difficulties with your feelings and moods, or anxiety, or you just want to experience the undoubted benefits of meditation: calmness, lower blood pressure, better concentration and memory recall.

This course is approved by NICE for use in the NHS – and is taught in many hospitals. It is also a great starting point for anyone interested in what the fuss about mindfulness is actually all about.

(This is a requirement for entry onto the Diploma in Mindfulness Teaching – but everyone is welcome)

The starting point for mindfulness – whether for yourself or for your career.

Whether you want to work in mindfulness, or just have it in your life, you can start with this programme. A requirement option for mindfulness diplomas and advanced diplomas, it’s life-changing whoever you are. All are welcome.

This is the 8 x 2¼ hour session plus 6 hour ‘All-Day’ model that is approved by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for use within the NHS. We only provide teachers trained and/or supervised by members of the UK Network of Mindfulness Teacher Trainers and we exceed the requirements of the guidelines for teaching and training.

Every mindfulness course that we run has a qualified therapist available for participants who may want a little additional one-to-one support.

“8+All-Day” programmes take place over 6-10 weeks

(with the ‘All-Day’ normally being arranged about 2 weeks before the end)

Applicants taking Diplomas later may be eligible for grants and/or scholarships. This course is not required for Diploma students who have taken similar courses supervised by members of the UK Network of Mindfulness Teacher Trainers.

This course counts towards study hours needed to become a UKCP Registered Therapist and gives credit for courses at Bath Spa and Open Universities.

I’m interested in studying mindfulness – what academic qualifications would I get?

Credits towards MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice at Bath Spa University and a number of degrees (including BSc Psychology) at Open University

What professional qualifications would I get, if I go on this course for career reasons?

This is one of three alternatives to meet the requirement for entering the Diploma in Clinical Mindfulness Teaching (7501 DipCMT) for which you must have attended an “8+All-Day” programme like this.

To enrol on 7501 DipCMT, you may choose instead to attend the “8+All-Day” Mindfulness Practice Course for Performance Enhancement & Stress Reduction (4502 MPC in PE&SR) or the “8+All-Day” Mindfulness Practice Course for Pain or Anxiety (4504 MPC for PoA).

If you choose to become a Registered Hypno-psychotherapist, a Registered Psychotherapist, a Registered Mindfulness Teacher or a Registered Mindfulness-led Therapist or Mentor, the time spent on this course will count towards these qualifications.
