“8+All-Day” Mindfulness Practice Course for Pain or Anxiety (4504 MPC for PoA)

This course is particularly for people who are anxious, stressed, those living with pain and people who are experiencing illness or caring for those who are.

This course takes place over 8 weeks like the sister course, the Mindfulness Practice Course (“8+All-Day”) in MBCT, which is useful for people not experiencing physical pain, but who have times when they feel down, upset or distressed.

“8+All-Days” are usually 8 weekly sessions of 2¼ hours plus a 6 hour day together towards the end of the programme. However, the Mentmore, Buckinghamshire presentation of this programme incorporates Session 7 into the All-Day (please see dates and times below)

Please note that it is normal for people on this programme to come and go during the sessions as they need to – you will be with qualified clinicians who are used to the needs of people who are in pain or have anxiety.

I’m interested in this for my career. What academic qualifications would I get? Credits towards MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice at Bath Spa University and a number of degrees (including BSc Psychology) at Open University

What professional qualifications would I get, if I go on this course for career reasons? This is one of three alternatives to meet the requirement for entering the Diploma in Clinical Mindfulness Teaching (7501 DipCMT) for which you must have attended an “8+All-Day” programme like this. To enrol on 7501 DipCMT, you may choose instead to attend the “8+All-Day” Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy programme (4501 MBCT) or the “8+All-Day” Mindfulness Practice Course for Performance Enhancement & Stress Reduction (4502 MPC in PE&SR). If you choose to become a Registered Hypno-psychotherapist, a Registered Psychotherapist, a Registered Mindfulness Teacher or a Registered Mindfulness-led Therapist or Mentor, the time spent on this course will count towards these qualifications.

Applicants taking Diplomas later may be eligible for grants and/or scholarships.

The course has concessionary rates for people who are on low or no incomes – please ask us for details

This course counts towards study hours needed to become a UKCP Registered Therapist and gives credit for courses at Bath Spa and Open Universities.
